Classic Tanto - Judo no Kata
Essential accessory for all Judoka practicing Kata, our Tanto (traditional dagger), is offered in red oak. This classic model can be used in Kata competition.
The Tanto is used in the Goshin Jutsu no Kata on techniques: Tsukkake, Choku-tsuki and Naname-tsuki. It's also used in the Kime no kata on techniques: Tsuki komi, Kiri komi and Yoko tsuki.
All our high-end weapons are available in varnished or unvarnished finish. The urethane coating protects the wood against moisture and temperature fluctuations, and thus makes it more durable, hence no special maintenance is needed. The unvarnished finish corresponds to a camellia oil polish to obtain a wood that is more natural and pleasant to the touch, but requires regular maintenance. Unvarnished weapons are more expensive because only the best timber is good enough to be kept raw.
